The world of network marketing has been going through a massive shift. 

Social media has been changing the game AND people’s businesses for years now. 

People quickly learned that it’s the must-have tool to grow their businesses and help them connect with people all around the world. 

But, here’s where we run into issues: We’ve been taught to completely rely on social media.

And I want you to know THIS truth: Social Media is NOT the Missing ‘Silver Bullet’ in your Network Marketing Business.

I see you, frustrated out of your mind, thinking to yourself: 

“I’m posting EVERY day, showing up to do the work, and I’m not getting any return on my efforts.”

And I have 3 things to say to you: 

1) Keep showing up and serving your audience with value.

2) Always, ALWAYS be authentic with what you’re posting. 

And here’s the most important thing…so pay attention:

3) It’s going to take a lot more than a post and a prayer to get you to where you want to be in your network marketing business. 

“Your business will NOT grow if you don't grow with it.”

“Okay, thanks Bob, but what does that even mean?”

What are you missing? What is the missing piece? Why isn’t your business thriving?

It means you need to put your phone down and take a look at the bigger picture. 

SO much emphasis has been put on social media in the last five years that it’s taking away from your development as a person and as a leader.

If you’re spending the majority of your time trying to nail down the best posting time, or spending hours designing the perfect Instagram Story graphic, you’re neglecting a vital  (and the most important) aspect of your business!

Your business will not grow if you don’t grow with it. 

In order to do that you need to invest time into developing yourself as the leader you were called to be. 

Network marketing is a character development program with a compensation plan attached.

This is a fundamental concept I teach in my Legacy Leadership Academy.

Even if you NAIL social media, gain a huge following, and get millions of likes, it means next to nothing if you can’t:

1) Sell to your audience 

2) Attract and recruit prospects 

3) Duplicate and create systems.

10,000 likes on a post does NOT grow a team or a business!

Social media is a powerful tool that can change businesses and lives, but it’s not the only piece of the puzzle. 

Character development is who you are in your business as a leader. It’s how you show up for your team and for yourself. 

It encompasses the integrity, discipline, strength, and love that you strive to improve every single day. 

Many people confuse character for personality. While personality is who you are on the outside, your character is who you are on the inside. It’s who you are when there is no audience, no ‘likes,’ and no ‘shares.’

We are living in a personality-driven world, which can create an incredibly intimidating idea of what success looks like. 

Because of that, we strive to be perfect in our social media feeds. We sit on our phones and try to find every answer to the Facebook algorithm. We spend hours searching for the perfect Instagram filter. We scroll through ‘successful’ Instagram accounts wishing we could achieve that level of perfection.

While some of these things have their place in your business, they’ve started to take over WAY too much of your time. 

And they’ve started to give you a scarcity mindset that makes it feel like there’s not enough room for YOU to have success in this world. 

The answer? 

Stop letting these things take over your life and start looking inside of yourself. 

You’re not stuck because Facebook changed the algorithm and no one is seeing your posts anymore. 

You’re stuck because you are letting the scarcity mindset get in the way of your success. 

Because you’re taking too much time worrying about social media and not investing enough time into who you are and how you can serve others.

The post and pray methods are over. You know what I’m talking about – where you post something on social media then sit and wait for people to engage with you or like your content.

The spammy ‘copy and paste to everyone you know’ days are over. 

It’s up to US, the new wave of network marketers, to evolve and move away from this. 

That means putting social media in its place: it’s a TOOL. It is NOT your entire business. 

Character is not developed hiding behind your phone or your computer screen. 

It’s developed by putting yourself out there, pushing past your fears, and embracing uncertainty.
